Plant A Church

The planting of churches is essential for any body of believers who are mission minded. Being mission minded is being focused on preaching the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to those who have never heard the message or have fallen away from it. It is from churches that believers sally forth with the Gospel to transform the world. And so it is necessary to have churches wherever possible as a base for this transforming work.

The first step in planting a church is to make contact with someone to assist you with the process, whether you plan on planting church in an urban, suburban, or rural setting. Every mission is ultimately the responsibility of the Diocesan bishop of the area where the church is planted but in many cases there are church planters or Area Deans who are more local who will be your primary contact. Please make contact with someone from the list below before beginning your planting efforts.

There are various resources available to help guide you through the process. A checklist guide to mission formation in the Anglican Province of America is available here.

Another excellent resource is the website, maintained by our ministry partners of the Anglican Church in North America.

May Almighty God bless you in this endeavor in bringing the Gospel to others by our Anglican Way of Christianity.
