St. Aidan's Mission in Chestertown, Maryland celebrated a wonderful two fold event the weekend of Friday, April 13, 2012. It was the mission's second anniversary and they celebrated their first Episcopal visit by the Most Rev'd Walter H. Grundorf, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Eastern U.S. He was accompanied by his wife Mary. The weekend of festivities began with a Friday night dinner for twelve on the Chesapeake Bay and progressed to a Saturday morning visit to the celebrated Chestertown Farmer's Market. On Saturday evening twenty two people gathered at a member's home for the church's anniversary party. Bp. Grundorf celebrated the Holy Eucharist for the mission on Sunday morning. He was assisted by the mission's priest-in-charge, the Rev'd Tom Burr. One new member was received into the church that morning. St. Aidan's has been blessed by the Lord and has grown from an original group of five members to an average Sunday attendance of 20. The congregation members report their feeling of family is strong and they support one another in times of need, as well as reaching out to the world around them to bring others to Christ.
